    Message

    High groundwater levels are expected to cause flooding. Groundwater levels in West Dorset are beginning to fall but remain high. Areas that could be affected include: Dewlish and Chesilbourne. The groundwater level at the Doles Ash borehole is at 121.60m, levels are slowly starting to fall but remain reactive to further rainfall. The forecast for the week is dry with possible showers over the weekend. Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. Residents may experience inundation of septic tanks and sewer systems. Properties may experience flooding in cellars in affected areas. Flooding of roads is expected, take particular care when driving. We are closely monitoring the situation . If you have a pump, make sure it is working and switched on. Think about alternative power sources in case of power cuts .   8. Flood alert Lower Tone and Parrett Moors SomersetRiver Tone, River Parrett
    Message

    The River Tone level at Currymoor pumping station is 7.25m at the time of writing. Water enters Currymoor via Hookbridge spillway when this is above 7.45m. The drain level at Currymoor pumping station is currently 6.08m and falling. The A361 is open and Athelney spillway is no longer running. New Road and Cutts Road remain closed for now; but please refer to https://www.somerset.gov.uk/roads-travel-and-parking/emergency-road-closure-gates/ for the latest. And for the latest water levels refer to https://check-for-flooding.service.gov.uk/river-and-sea-levels. We are pumping at Currymoor, Northmoor and Saltmoor pumping stations, and will continue to do so as water levels allow. Tuesday is forecast to be largely dry and the weather is expected to be more settled until the weekend. We are monitoring the situation closely and checking flood banks, spillways and sluices.     High river levels over the next 2 days may lead to flooding. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including Willington, Ingleby, Barrow upon Trent, Swarkestone, the B5008 at Willington, the access frontage at Swarkestone, the A5132 between Willington and Barrow, and Meadow Lane, Bargate Lane, and the access roads to Willington Meadows, the Twyford Village access road, Church Lane at Barrow, and Ingleby Lane. We are closely monitoring the situation. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. No further rain is forecast.     River levels remain high but steady at the Milford river gauge.

    Flooding is possible on 03 March 2026 . Levels at the Milford gauge are expected to remain high until 04 March.

    Flooding may affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the River Sow between Great Bridgeford and Shugborough, the River Penk between Coven and Stafford, the Sandyford Brook, the Rising Brook, the Ridings Brook and the Saredon Brook.

    High river levels expected to cause flooding this evening. Flooding is expected from the evening of 3rd March 2026.  High river levels are expected to cause flooding on 3rd March 2026. River levels remain high following recent rainfall. During periods of high tide the River Nene will be unable to discharge into the sea, resulting in tide lock conditions. This is likely to lead to localised flooding of the North Bank Road, between Peterborough and Rings End. Whilst this Flood Warning is in force, the Local Authority will close North Bank Road. Diversionary routes will be put in place and further updates will be available through local media.     High river levels expected to cause flooding this evening. Flooding is expected from the evening of 3rd March 2026.  High river levels are expected to cause flooding on 3rd March 2026. River levels remain high following recent rainfall. During periods of high tide the River Nene will be unable to discharge into the sea, resulting in tide lock conditions. This is likely to lead to localised flooding of the North Bank Road, between Peterborough and Rings End. Whilst this Flood Warning is in force, the Local Authority will close North Bank Road. Diversionary routes will be put in place and further updates will be available through local media.
