FloodRadar is an independent monitoring and analysis service built on public open data. It is a companion to the official flood warning services, never a replacement for them. The Environment Agency (England), Natural Resources Wales and SEPA (Scotland) issue the official flood warnings, and those warnings always take precedence over anything FloodRadar shows or sends. Please sign up for the official warnings and act on them first.
Everything on FloodRadar — river levels, rainfall, warnings, predictions — is derived from Environment Agency and SEPA open data feeds and other public sources. Those feeds are outside our control: readings can arrive late, be revised, contain sensor faults, or stop entirely during exactly the storm conditions when you need them most. We surface data-quality caveats where we detect problems, but you should treat every reading and every prediction as indicative, not authoritative.
FloodRadar alerts (email, browser push and any other channel) are provided on a best-efforts basis. An alert may be delayed or fail to arrive because of upstream data outages, email or push-provider failures, spam filtering, device settings, or errors on our side. Never rely on a FloodRadar alert as your only warning of flooding. Our predictions are experimental model output and can be wrong in both directions.
Creating an account (or claiming a subscription) requires agreeing to these terms; we record the time and version of your acceptance. We may update these terms — material changes are versioned on this page. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
FloodRadar uses Environment Agency flood and river level data from the real-time data API (Beta), SEPA data, and other public datasets, under the Open Government Licence v3.0. FloodRadar is not endorsed by or affiliated with the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, SEPA or any government body.
The Property Flood-Risk Report is a one-off paid digital product delivered immediately after payment (processed by Stripe — we never see your card details). It carries a 14-day money-back guarantee: if the report wasn't useful to you, reply to your delivery email within 14 days of purchase and we'll refund the full price to your original payment method. The report summarises public area-level data as of the moment it is generated; it is not a survey of any individual property and does not constitute professional, insurance or financial advice (sections 1–2 apply to it in full). This guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights, which are unaffected.
The service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, FloodRadar accepts no liability for any loss or damage — including flood damage, financial loss or consequential loss — arising from use of, reliance on, or inability to use the service or its alerts. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales, which governs these terms.
Don't abuse the service: no scraping at rates that degrade it for others, no attempts to access other users' data, and no re-publishing our derived analysis as official warnings. We may suspend accounts or block traffic that puts the service or other users at risk.
