How to read this map
Blue shows estimated rain intensity in millimetres per hour. Darker blue means heavier rain. The colours are rain rates at the observation time, not totals for the whole hour. Clear areas within radar coverage mean less than 0.1 mm/h was detected; grey hatching means no radar coverage.
The Met Office publishes an image every 15 minutes, usually within 20 minutes of the observation. Radar estimates can differ from rain at the ground. The timeline shows observations from the past three hours; it does not predict where rain will move next.
River dots show their latest available reading and do not change with the radar timeline. Rain on this map is not an official flood warning. See the next 24-hour outlook and rain forecast or official flood warnings.
