The catchment

Agricultural, very low relief catchment with high baseflow component. Drains Sherwood Sandstone outcrop; intermittent Boulder Clay and glacial sand and gravel.

Crump profile weir, 6m wide, installed for the Shropshire Groundwater Scheme.

How it measures flow

Weir drowns only at very high flows, but channel re-graded to further reduce the risk. Problems with high flow gaugings. One (theoretical) rating applied across period of record.
