A Flood Alert was issued for The Essex coast from St Peters Flat to and including Shoeburyness and the Crouch and Roach estuaries in Essex, Southend-on-Sea on 9th October 2026. Affected watercourses included the River Crouch, River Roach, North Sea.
During this event, FloodRadar monitoring gauges recorded notable rises. The River Crouch at Wickford rose 0.25m, peaking at 0.35m, while the River Brain at Guithavon Valley climbed 0.06m.

High tides overnight may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible from 11pm on Friday 9th October through to 1am on Saturday 10th October. Tide levels will be high at Battlesbridge and Hullbridge riversides. Creeksea Ferry Road onto Wallasea Island may be flooded. The detailed forecast is for a peak level at Clacton of 2.90 mAODN at 12am on Saturday 10th October, which is 0.48m above tide tables, Wind Force 6, Westerly.
