Low lying, agricultural catchment with mixed and low permeability geology.
The station
Flat-V weir installed in July 2000 replaced level recorder in open channel site closed in 1984. Weir crest 4m wide. Site located 1.9km u/s of Piddle Brook confluence with River Avon.
How it measures flow
Overbank flow contained to stage of 1.1 metres within the cableway while floodplain flow can occur over both banks. Tail water correction applied to account for non-modular flow.
Flow regime
Flow impacted by upstream railway bridge and downstream by Worcester road bridge.

Dec 1977- Nov 1984 flows unavailable as rating suffered from weed effects. Flows in October 2017 are lower due to operation of gates downstream in Pershore. Digital level data unavailable for this early part of station record. Flows calculated using new rating since installation of weir in 2000.
