Wimborne Minster is a market town in Dorset in South West England and the name of the Church of England church in that town. It lies at the confluence of the River Stour and the River Allen, 5 miles (8 km) north of Poole, on the Dorset Heaths, and is part of the South East Dorset conurbation. Ordnance Survey places 170 postcodes in Wimborne Minster in the Environment Agency's rivers-and-sea flood-risk dataset (Risk of Flooding from Rivers and Sea). Each postcode is counted once, under the worst band any of its properties reaches; together they hold 2,355 properties in the EA dataset's likelihood bands.
| EA likelihood band | Postcodes (worst band) | Properties in the EA dataset | of which homes |
|---|---|---|---|
| High | 13 | 22 | 7 |
| Medium | 20 | 203 | 123 |
| Low | 136 | 2,100 | 1,721 |
| Very low | 1 | 30 | 30 |
| All bands | 170 | 2,355 | 1,881 |
This dataset covers flooding from rivers and the sea only — one of five flood sources. Surface water, groundwater, sewers and reservoirs are assessed separately, so a postcode missing from it is not proof that a place cannot flood. The band describes the land around properties (allowing for defences), not any single address and not today's conditions.

Distances along the river are from the point on the River Allen nearest the middle of Wimborne Minster's gauges. From Ordnance Survey’s river map (OS Open Rivers), which leaves out small streams, ditches and culverts, so a nearer one may exist.
