    The forecast high tide at Richmond is 4.60 mAOD at 05:15 PM on Saturday 15th August.

    We believe there is a possibility of flooding for Putney Embankment (SW15), Chiswick Mall and Strand on the Green (W4), Thames Bank at Mortlake (SW14), Ranelagh Drive (TW1), Friars Lane and Water Lane (TW9), Riverside and The Embankment at Twickenham, and the Towpath below Teddington Lock. Flooding of properties is not expected.

    Astronomical tide levels are falling. The river flow at Teddington Weir is 3 cubic metres per second and is steady. We anticipate the flows to remain steady for the next few days.

    Flooding is possible around 8:30PM to 11:30PM on Saturday 15th of August 2026.

    Areas most at risk include the tidal River Avon from Sea Mills to Conham in Bristol and between the Avonmouth Bridge and Shirehampton Park including Pill and Shirehampton.

    The detailed tidal forecast for those who use it is for a peak level at Avonmouth Portbury of 7.37 mAODN at 10:15PM on 15/08/26, which is 0.15 m above tide tables, with North-Easterly force 4 winds. (mAODN is height above average sea level.)

    We do not expect to see similar impacts from the next high tide. Tide levels have passed their peak but will still be high over the weekend.

The Strood at Mersea Island, Coast Road and car parks on the front at West Mersea, and the Hythe and Promenade at Maldon may be flooded. The detailed forecast is for a peak level at Clacton of 2.76mAODN at 2.30pm, on Saturday 15th August, which is 0.23m above tide tables, Wind Force 5 , North Easterly. Tides are expected to be higher than usual, due to the forecast weather conditions during spring tides.

    The current sequence of high Spring tides continues this evening and may lead to flooding.
    Flooding is possible around 21:45 on Saturday 15th August.
    Flooding is forecast to affect locations at Porlock Bay, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around the coastline between Gore Point and Hurlstone Point including Porlock Weir.
    The detailed tidal forecast for those who use it is for a peak level at Hinkley of 6.37 mAODN at 21:45 on 15/08/26, with North Westerly force 4 winds. (mAODN is height above average sea level.)
    After the high tide at 21:45 on 15/8/26, the weather is forecast to improve and no further flooding is currently expected.

    Locations most affected will be coastal roads and footpaths along the coast at North Morecambe Bay from Roosebeck to Carnforth including low lying areas around Ulverston, Greenodd, Haverthwaite, Flookburgh, Grange-over-Sands, Levens, Milnthorpe, Sandside, Arnside and Silverdale.
    We are nearing the end of a period of high spring tides and are not expecting any further tides to reach Flood Alert Level in this cycle.

Severe flood warning

Severe flooding. Danger to life. Stay in a safe place with a means of escape, and follow the advice of the emergency services. Call 999 if you are in immediate danger.
