Flood warnings in England, Scotland and Wales

Flooding is possible between 12:45pm and 2:45pm today, Sunday 13th September. 

Clacton Promenade, Lee-over-Sands and Brightlingsea sea front may see some wave overtopping and spray. The Strood at Mersea Island, Coast Road and car parks on the front at West Mersea, and the Hythe and Promenade at Maldon may be flooded. The detailed forecast is for a peak level at Clacton of 2.76mAODN at 1:45pm, on Sunday 13th September, which is 0.14m above tide tables, wind force 3, south westerly. Tides are expected to be higher than usual, due to the forecast weather conditions during spring tides.

Tides are expected to be higher than usual, due to the forecast weather conditions during spring tides.

We expect to see water on roads and paths to beaches and on the quays in Brancaster, Burnham Overy, Holkham, Wells and Blakeney. The detailed forecast is for a peak level at Wells of 3.66mAODN at 8:15am, on Saturday 13th September, which is 0.26m above tide tables, wind force 3, westerly. Tides are expected to be higher than usual, due to the forecast weather conditions during spring tides.

We may see water on Beach Road at Cley, and Beach Road at Salthouse, and footpaths in the marshes may also become inaccessible. The detailed forecast is for a peak level at Wells of 3.66mAODN at 8:15am, on Saturday 13th September, which is 0.26m above tide tables, wind force 3, westerly. Tides are expected to be higher than usual, due to the forecast weather conditions during spring tides.

Flooding is possible from 08:00PM to 10:00PM on 12/09.

Areas most at risk include the tidal River Avon from Sea Mills to Conham in Bristol and between the Avonmouth Bridge and Shirehampton Park including Pill and Shirehampton. The detailed tidal forecast for those who use it is for a peak level at Avonmouth Portbury. The first forecast high water of 7.46 mAODN is at 9:00PM 12/09, which is 0.12 m above tide tables, with Westerly force 5 winds. (mAODN is height above average sea level.)

Flooding is possible from 06:00am to 10:00am on Sunday 13 September 2026. 

Areas most at risk are around Hunstanton seafront. Flood gates in the area will be closed by the Local Authority which will make access difficult. The detailed forecast is for a peak level at King's Lynn of 4.67mAODN at 08:15am on 13 September, Wind Force 3, Westerly. The current series of high spring tides has now reached its peak and will fall away over the next few days.

Flooding is possible Around high tide 

We are entering a sequence of Spring tides that may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible around 06:45 on Friday 11th September. Flooding is forecast to affect locations at Porlock Bay, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around the coastline between Gore Point and Hurlstone Point including Porlock Weir. The first high tide is at 06:45 on Friday with a peak height of 6.12m and a F4 north westerly wind. The second high tide is at 19:00 on Friday with a peak height of 6.37m and a F4 westerly wind
