A Flood Alert was issued for Wyre estuary from Fleetwood and Knott End to Little Eccleston in Lancashire on 13th August 2026. Affected watercourses included the Wyre Estuary.
During this event, FloodRadar monitoring gauges recorded notable rises. The River Wyre at St Michaels rose 0.36m, peaking at 0.58m, while the Cockers Dyke at Preesall Pumping Station, Cockers Dyke climbed 0.12m.

High tides overnight may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible from 00:01am to 01:30am on 14/08/26. Locations most affected will be Tiger's Tail, Wyre Dock, Burrow's Marsh, Burn Naze, Thornton, Trunnah, Stanah, Poulton-le-Fylde, Skippool, Hambleton, Cold Row, Little Singleton, Little Eccleston and Crow Woods. The following tide on the afternoon of 14/08/26 is not due to reach Flood Alert levels; however, the following overnight tide may reach Flood Alert levels. We are closely monitoring the situation .
