High tides tomorrow morning may lead to flooding.  Flooding is possible from 05:45AM to 07:15AM on Saturday 18th July.  Strong onshore winds combined with a spring tide may cause some wave overtopping in the Seaham Harbour, Hendon Prom, Seaburn Lower Prom and Roker Seafront areas. Locations most affected will be coastal roads and footpaths. Similar conditions are currently expected on Sunday morning.  We are closely monitoring the situation .  Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded .  This message will be updated by 12:00PM on 18 July 2026 or as the situation changes
