A Flood Alert was issued for The Essex coast from St Peters Flat to and including Shoeburyness and the Crouch and Roach estuaries in Essex, Southend-on-Sea on 18th July 2026. Affected watercourses included the River Crouch, River Roach, North Sea.
Local monitoring gauges did not record a significant level change for this event, which may indicate a precautionary or rainfall-forecast-based alert.

High tides this afternoon may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible between 2:30pm and 4:30pm today, Saturday 18 July. Tide levels will be high at Battlesbrigde, and Hullbridge riversides. Creeksea Ferry Road onto Wallasea Island may be flooded. The detailed forecast is for a peak level at Clacton of 2.87mAODN at 3:30pm today, Saturday 18 July which is 0.53m above tide tables, Wind Force 4, North easterly. Tides are expected to be higher than usual, due to the forecast weather conditions during spring tides. We are closely monitoring the situation . Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carp
