The station

Flat vee weir. Poor approach to weir - rocks and shoal. Station closed 1982-2000.

How it measures flow

Mostly contained within bank except for Aug 1971 maximum. Two peaks flow ratings applied across period of record. ADCP gaugings carried out in village approx 300m upstream, off a farm bridge or by wading, due to the rocky nature of the channel immediately upstream and downstream of the weir. Gauging location needs to be confirmed due to variations in results, with salt dilution methods being considered.

Flow regime

Runoff increased by effluent returns. Natural to within 10% at the 95 percentile flow.

Station closed 1982-2000. High flows in August 1971 missing from GDF record. Full period of record peak flow data reviewed and released in September 2019 (WINFAP Files v8).
