   Message

   Groundwater is high, very close to the surface, but slowly falling at the Compton borehole. Springs will continue to appear, water will be in fields, and water will flow down roads, including Stoughton main road, the road from East Marden, between Cooks Lane and Barley Mow in Walderton, and the B2146 near Woodlands Lane. Groundwater will also affect a small number of cellars in Stoughton and Walderton. Only small amounts of rain are forecast over the five days to 06/03/2026, and groundwater at Compton borehole will continue to slowly fall over the coming week. There is a suggestion that high pressure, settled conditions, and only small amounts of rain could continue in the south east of England through the first half of March 2026. Which would allow groundwater to fall for longer. However, with groundwater so high, groundwater flood impacts are still likely to continue until at least the middle of March.    High river levels over the next 2 days may lead to flooding. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including Willington, Ingleby, Barrow upon Trent, Swarkestone, the B5008 at Willington, the access frontage at Swarkestone, the A5132 between Willington and Barrow, and Meadow Lane, Bargate Lane, and the access roads to Willington Meadows, the Twyford Village access road, Church Lane at Barrow, and Ingleby Lane. We are closely monitoring the situation. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Very light rainfall is forecast over the next 48 hours.    This warning is for caravans at Marnham Meadows Holiday Park only. Due to a blockage in the Old Trent watercourse near Marnham Meadows Holiday Park, off Hollowgate Road in High Marnham, properties and access in this specific area are at risk. We are closely monitoring the situation and have staff checking the blockage and deploying pumps. No other properties are currently at risk in the Marnham area. Access is likely to have been lost to properties on Zouch Island due to high water. No further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. No further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. River levels at the Frisby on the Wreake Gauge are now stabilising and generally steady but still high.     Flooding is possible from 16:00 and overnight on Monday 02/03/26  
    
    Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near rivers or on the coast. Flooding may affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the Estuary from Sandhurst to Chepstow and Sharpness over the next couple of days. Some lengths of the flood embankment at Longney and The Noards may be overtopped. Rodley Lane, Westbury and Awre Road, Brims Pill may be flooded. Predicted peaks: Sandhurst 3.3m to 3.5m on 02/03 PM and Gloucester 3.1m to 3.3m on 02/03 PM.

    River levels continue to decrease at Lilbourne and whilst the level is decreasing the risk of flooding continues and will remain into Tuesday.
    Flooding may affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the River Avon between Stanford and Rugby, River Swift between Cosford and Rugby and Clay Coton Brook between Yelvertoft and Lilbourne.

    River levels continue to decrease along the Avon. Upstream area like Rugby and Warwick have returned to normal levels, however Stratford upon Avon remains elevated. Whilst the level at Stratford is decreasing the risk of flooding continues and will remain into Tuesday.
    Flooding may affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the River Avon between Rugby and Bidford including Warwick, Stratford upon Avon, caravan parks and farmland.

    Flooding is possible . Light rain (12mm) has been recorded in the last week. 
    Groundwater levels have stabilised in most villages, but in West Tytherley, they continue to slowly rise. Flooding is affecting cellars in Nether Wallop and Pitton. Sewerage system impacts are expected to be ongoing in Pitton. Garden flooding is ongoing in Over Wallop. In West Tytherley, cellar, road and land flooding is expected to begin from Monday 02/03/2026. Mostly dry weather is forecast from Monday 02/03/2026 to Friday 06/03/2026. Groundwater levels in most villages will fall this week. In West Tytherley, the level will continue to slowly rise for another week.

Sewerage system impacts could also be possible. Mostly dry weather is forecast from Monday 02/03/2026 to Friday 06/03/2026. Groundwater levels will continue to slowly fall over the next week.

    Groundwater levels at the borehole in Harestock are high but slowly falling. In the last week, the level has fallen by 70cm.
    
    Flooding is affecting Springvale Road in Kings Worthy. In Martyr Worthy, Chilland and Easton drainage ditches and culverts will become full and less effective as natural flow paths are restricted. Some properties may be affected as water seeps up through floors. Footpaths near the river will also be inaccessible. From Monday 02/03/2026 to Friday 06/03/2026, mostly dry weather is forecast. Groundwater levels will continue to fall for the next week.

    High river levels are expected to continue to cause flooding on 2nd March 2026. River levels remain high following recent rainfall. The Whittlesey Wash flood storage reservoir is being operated to protect nearby communities from flooding. Levels in the flood storage reservoir remain high and there is continued flooding of the B1040 road. Whilst the Flood Warning is in force, the Local Authority may close the B1040 for safety reasons. Diversionary routes will be put in place and further updates will be available through local media. We are closely monitoring the situation. Refer to the local authority website for road closures.     A considerable amount of water remains on the Somerset Levels and Moors. Flooding is still affecting the low-lying moors near the Rivers Yeo, Parrett, Sowy and Kings Sedgemoor Drain.
    We are maximising use of the River Sowy (Parrett Relief Channel) to drain down upstream moors, as river levels and water levels allow.
    Pumping stations are operating around Langport and temporary pumps over-pump at Dunball sluices during high tide, when water cannot gravitate into the River Parrett.
    Monday is expected to be largely dry and the weather is forecast to be more settled until Thursday.
    We are closely monitoring the situation, and our Field Teams are operating structures and pumps.

The groundwater level at Woodyates borehole is 101.63m,levels are starting to fall steadily. A dry week and weekend expected for Thursday is expected. Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. Residents may experience inundation of septic tanks and sewer systems. Properties may experience flooding in cellars in affected areas. Flooding of roads is expected, take particular care when driving, both for your own safety and to prevent flooding to others. Roads may have become damaged by floodwater. Where groundwater is near the surface, intense rainfall will lead to surface water flooding. We will continue to monitor the situation closely.     Groundwater levels in Cranborne Chase are beginning to plateau but remain high. Areas that could be affected include: Pimperne Brook at Pimperne. The groundwater level at Iwerne Hill Farm borehole is 112.03m and starting to fall steadily. A dry week apart from Thursday is expected with drier conditions returning over the weekend. Flooding of roads and some properties, especially basements is expected. Residents should continue to keep any property resilience measures such as pumps, flood barriers and air brick covers deployed. Further rainfall is forecast throughout the week which may see levels rise again. We are closely monitoring the situation. Keep up to date with groundwater levels on the 'Check for Flooding' site on gov.uk. Please take care and do not attempt to walk, cycle or drive through flood water.     A considerable amount of floodwater remains on the Somerset Levels and Moors; low-lying land and roads adjacent to the River Yeo are still affected.
    We are utilising the Parrett Relief Channel downstream of this alert area and operating as many pumps as possible as river and water levels on the moors allow.
    Monday is expected to be largely dry and the weather is forecast to be more settled until Thursday.
    We are closely monitoring the situation, and our Field Teams are operating structures and pumps.
    Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Don’t put yourself or others at risk.

    High groundwater levels are expected to continue to cause flooding. The groundwater level at the Delcombe Wood borehole remains high at 139.59m above sea level. Flooding is expected for: Turnworth, Winterborne Stickland, Winterborne Houghton, Clenston, Whatcombe and Whitechurch. Levels are starting to fall steadily. No rainfall is expected over the next couple days but another band of rain is forecast from Thursday. Drier conditions return over the weekend and levels are expected to continue to fall. We are closely monitoring the situation. If you have a pump, make sure it is working and switched on. Think about alternative power sources in case of power cuts. The groundwater level at the Dickley Down borehole is at 162.31m levels are falling steadily but will remain high. A dry week is expected except for Thursday with drier conditions returning over the weekend. Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. Residents may experience inundation of septic tanks and sewer systems. Flooding of roads is expected, take particular care when driving, both for your own safety and to prevent flooding to others. We are closely monitoring the situation. The groundwater level at the Dickley Down borehole is 162.31m, and is starting to fall steadily. A dry week is expected except for rain forecast on Thursday with drier conditions retuning over the weekend. Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. Residents may experience inundation of septic tanks and sewer systems. Properties may experience flooding in cellars in affected areas. Flooding of roads is expected, take particular care when driving, both for your own safety and to prevent flooding to others. Roads may have become damaged by floodwater. Where groundwater is near the surface, intense rainfall will lead to surface water flooding. We will continue to monitor the situation closely. The groundwater level at the Terraces borehole remains high at 115.76m. Levels are falling steadily. The start of the week is dry so further falls are expected. 40. Mon 2 Mar 2026 Flood alert Lower Tone and Parrett Moors SomersetRiver Tone, River Parrett

    The River Tone level at Currymoor pumping station is 7.27m. Water enters Currymoor via Hookbridge spillway when this is above 7.45m. The drain level at Currymoor pumping station is currently 6.28m and gradually falling. New Road and Cutts Road remain closed for now.
    However, the A361 is open (and Athelney spillway is not running). For the latest levels refer to https://check-for-flooding.service.gov.uk/river-and-sea-levels.
    We are pumping at Currymoor, Northmoor and Saltmoor pumping stations, and will continue to do so as water levels allow.
    Monday is expected to be largely dry and the weather is forecast to be more settled until Thursday.
    We are monitoring the situation closely and checking flood banks, spillways and sluices. Please avoid driving through flood water.
