   High river levels may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible today, Tuesday 3rd March 2026. Flooding may affect low lying land and roads adjacent the River Avon from Abbotts Salford to Tewkesbury. Other locations that may be affected include Offenham, Evesham, Twyning and the Eckington Road. Mill Bank Road from Jubillee Bridge to Fladbury is impacted.
   
   Peaks: Evesham peaked on Saturday 28/02, at 2.3m and Bredon peaked 2.5m on Sunday 01/03/26.

Some lengths of the flood embankment at Longney and The Noards may be overtopped. Rodley Lane, Westbury and Awre Road, Brims Pill may be flooded. The detailed forecast is for a peak level at  Clacton of 2.77mAODN at 12:00 noon today which is 0.65m above tide tables, Wind Force 4, North Easterly.  No further high tides are expected over the coming days.

    Flooding is expected from the evening of 02 March 2026 . 
    High river levels are expected to cause flooding on 2 March 2026. River levels remain high following recent rainfall. During periods of high tide the River Nene will be unable to discharge into the sea, resulting in tide lock conditions. This is likely to lead to localised flooding of the North Bank Road, between Peterborough and Rings End. Whilst this Flood Warning is in force, the Local Authority will close North Bank Road. Diversionary routes will be put in place and further updates will be available through local media. 
    We are closely monitoring the situation .

    Groundwater is high, close to the surface, but slowly rising again at the Houndean Bottom borehole. Springs will continue to appear, water could affect fields, the recreation ground, and a small number of cellars in Denton. Only small amounts of rain are forecast over the five days to 06/03/2026, and groundwater at Houndean Bottom borehole will continue to slowly fall over the coming week. There is a suggestion that high pressure, settled conditions, and only small amounts of rain could continue in the south east of England through the first half of March 2026. Which would allow groundwater to fall for longer. However, with groundwater being as high as it is, groundwater flood impacts could still continue through the first week of March. Take care on roads that flood (Denton Road). Ensure pumps work. We will monitor, and update this message by 18:00 06/03/2026.

Previous events suggest impacts may initially affect Old London Road, Patcham and Peacock Lane, Withdean. Only small amounts of rain are forecast over the five days to 06/03/2026, and groundwater at Ladies Mile borehole will continue to slowly fall over the coming week. There is a suggestion that high pressure, settled conditions, and only small amounts of rain could continue in the south east of England through the first half of March 2026. Which would allow groundwater to fall for longer. However, with groundwater being as high as it is, groundwater flood impacts could still continue through the first week of March. Ensure pumps work. Springs will continue to appear, water will be in fields, small amounts of water will flow down roads, groundwater will affect the ability of the sewage network to operate in East Dean, Charlton, Singleton and West Dean, and may appear in a small number of basements. Only small amounts of rain are forecast over the five days to 06/03/2026, and groundwater at both Chilgrove and East Dean boreholes will continue to slowly fall over the coming week. There is a suggestion that high pressure, settled conditions, and only small amounts of rain could continue in the south east of England through the first half of March 2026. Which would allow groundwater to fall for longer. However, with groundwater so high, groundwater flood impacts are still likely to continue until at least the middle of March. Take care on roads that flood (Chilgrove, West Dean, Singleton, East Dean). Ensure pumps work. We will update this message by 18:00 06/03/2026.
