   Floodwater is reducing but a considerable amount of water remains on the Somerset Levels and Moors. Flooding is still affecting the low-lying moors near the Rivers Yeo, Parrett, Sowy and Kings Sedgemoor Drain.
   
   We are maximising use of the River Sowy (Parrett Relief Channel) to drain the upstream moors, as river levels and water levels allow.
   
   Pumping stations are operating around Langport and temporary pumps over-pump at Dunball sluices during high tides, when water cannot gravitate into the River Parrett.
   
   Saturday forecast to be mostly dry with periods of rain to migrate northwards. Sunday forecast for heavy morning rain that fades during the day, leading to a drier evening. A frontal system is moving to the area on Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning, bringing more unsettled conditions.
   
   We are closely monitoring the situation, and our Field Teams are operating structures and pumps.

    Flooding is possible from 4:15 PM to 6:15 PM on 07/03/2026. 
    The forecast high tide at Richmond is 4.60 mAOD at 5:15 PM on 07/03/2026.
    
    We believe there is a possibility of flooding for Putney Embankment (SW15), Chiswick Mall and Strand on the Green (W4), Thames Bank at Mortlake (SW14), Ranelagh Drive (TW1), Friars Lane and Water Lane (TW9), Riverside and The Embankment at Twickenham, and the Towpath below Teddington Lock. Flooding of properties is not expected.
    
    Astronomical tide levels are falling. The river flow at Teddington Weir is 135 cubic metres per second and is steady. We anticipate the flows to fall slowly for the next few days.

Springs will continue to appear, water could affect fields, the recreation ground, and a small number of cellars in Denton. Only small amounts of rain are forecast over the five days to 10/03/2026, and groundwater at Houndean Bottom borehole will continue to slowly fall over the coming week. Groundwater flood impacts are likely to stop being visible soon. There is a suggestion that unsettled conditions and periods of rain could return next week and through the second half of March 2026. However, it is probable that groundwater will continue to fall throughout March. However, if there is persistent, or exceptional rainfall in late March, groundwater may rise at times.     Groundwater is high, close to the surface, but slowly falling at Ladies Mile borehole. A small amount of water could still be appearing in a few basements, although likely to be infrequently now. Previous events suggest impacts may initially affect Old London Road, Patcham and Peacock Lane, Withdean. Only small amounts of rain are forecast over the five days to 10/03/2026, and groundwater at Ladies Mile borehole will continue to slowly fall over the coming week. Groundwater flood impacts are likely to stop being visible soon. There is a suggestion that unsettled conditions and periods of rain could return next week and through the second half of March 2026. However, it is probable that groundwater will continue to fall throughout March. However, if there is persistent, or exceptional rainfall in late March, groundwater may rise at times. Only small amounts of rain are forecast over the five days to 10/03/2026, and groundwater at both Chilgrove and East Dean boreholes will continue to slowly fall over the coming week. There is a suggestion that unsettled conditions and periods of rain could return next week and through the second half of March 2026. However, it is probable that groundwater will continue to fall throughout March, although groundwater groundwater flood impacts may not reduce until the middle of March.     Rising groundwater levels may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible to low lying land, roads and properties with basements around the following areas: Petham Bourne, Alkham bourne and Nailbourne including Alkham, Temple Ewell, Elham, Barham, Bishopsbourne, Bridge, Patrixbourne and Bekesbourne. Groundwater levels in East Kent have been rising following significant rainfall during January and early February. As a result of the substantial rainfall during this period, the Nailbourne continues to flow along its full course. By late February, conditions have become noticeably drier, and in some locations, groundwater levels are beginning to stabilise. We are closely monitoring the situation and have started operating the Littlebourne Relief Channel. Keep up to date with groundwater levels on the 'Check for Flooding' site on gov.uk .     Friday and Saturday are forecast to be largely dry before a band of rain crosses the area overnight on Saturday. This may bring periods of heavier showers before it clears away early on Sunday morning.

    The River Yeo level at Huish Episcopi is currently 7.92m and falling. The drain level at Huish Episcopi is 7.78m and falling slowly.
    
    Flooding affects the Langport to Muchelney road when this drain level exceeds 7.30m, the Muchelney to Long Load road above 7.86m, the Muchelney to Thorney road above 7.93m and the Muchelney to Drayton road above 8.80m.     We are utilising the Parrett Relief Channel to manage levels in the River Parrett. We are pumping at Long Load and Huish Episcopi pumping stations as river and water levels on the moors allow.

    Floodwater is reducing but a considerable amount of water remains on the Somerset Levels and Moors. Flooding is still affecting the low-lying moors near the Rivers Yeo, Parrett, Sowy and Kings Sedgemoor Drain.
    
    We are maximising use of the River Sowy (Parrett Relief Channel) to drain the upstream moors, as river levels and water levels allow.
    
    Pumping stations are operating around Langport and temporary pumps over-pump at Dunball sluices during high tides, when water cannot gravitate into the River Parrett.
    
    Friday and Saturday are forecast to be largely dry before a band of rain crosses the area overnight on Saturday. This may bring periods of heavier showers before it clears away early on Sunday morning.
    
    We are closely monitoring the situation, and our Field Teams are operating structures and pumps.

    The River Yeo level at Huish Episcopi is currently 7.92m and falling. The drain level at Huish Episcopi is 7.78m and falling slowly.
    
    Flooding affects the Langport to Muchelney road when this drain level exceeds 7.30m, the Muchelney to Long Load road above 7.86m, the Muchelney to Thorney road above 7.93m and the Muchelney to Drayton road above 8.80m.     We are utilising the Parrett Relief Channel to manage levels in the River Parrett. We are pumping at Long Load and Huish Episcopi pumping stations as river and water levels on the moors allow.
