    Groundwater is high, very close to the surface but slowly falling, at the Compton borehole. Springs will continue to appear, water will be in fields, and water will flow down roads, including Stoughton main road, the road from East Marden, between Cooks Lane and Barley Mow in Walderton, and the B2146 near Woodlands Lane. Groundwater will also affect a small number of cellars in Stoughton and Walderton. Only showers or small amounts of rain are forecast over the next 5 days to Tuesday 17/03/2026. Groundwater at Compton borehole is expected to continue to fall. It is probable that groundwater will continue to fall throughout March, although groundwater flood impacts may not reduce until April. If there is persistent or exceptional rainfall in late March, groundwater flood impacts may remain for longer. Take care on roads that flood (Stoughton, Walderton). Ensure pumps work.     The River Yeo level at Huish Episcopi is 8.27m and is rising following the overnight rainfall. The drain level at Huish Episcopi is 7.24m and is stable. Flooding affects the Langport to Muchelney road when this drain level exceeds 7.30m, the Muchelney to Long Load road above 7.86m, the Muchelney to Thorney road above 7.93m and the Muchelney to Drayton road above 8.80m. Property flooding isn't expected below 8.35m. For the latest river and drain levels refer to https://check-for-flooding.service.gov.uk/river-and-sea-levels. We will run the pumps at Huish Episcopi and West Sedgemoor pumping stations when river levels allow. Showers are forecast for during Friday with a drier day on Saturday.     Floodwater is reducing but a considerable amount of water remains on the Somerset Levels and Moors. Flooding is still affecting the low-lying Muchelney and West Sedgemoor moors near the Rivers Yeo and Parrett. We will run the pumps at Huish Episcopi and West Sedgemoor pumping stations when river levels allow. Showers are forecast for during Friday with a drier day on Saturday.     Locations most affected will be low‑lying land and roads near rivers, especially the River Wiske, Brompton Beck, Cod Beck, North Beck, Willow Beck, Sun Beck, and Winton Beck. River levels are forecast to peak tonight.

    Rising groundwater levels may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible to low lying land, roads and properties with basements around the following areas: Petham Bourne, Alkham bourne and Nailbourne including Alkham, Temple Ewell, Elham, Barham, Bishopsbourne, Bridge, Patrixbourne and Bekesbourne. Groundwater levels in East Kent have been rising following significant rainfall during January and early February. As a result of the substantial rainfall during this period, the Nailbourne continues to flow along its full course. By late February, conditions have become noticeably drier, and in some locations, groundwater levels are beginning to stabilise. We are closely monitoring the situation and we are operating the Littlebourne Relief Channel. Keep up to date with groundwater levels on the 'Check for Flooding' site on gov.uk .     Groundwater is high, very close to the surface, but now falling. Springs will continue to appear, water will be in fields, small amounts of water will flow down roads, groundwater will affect the ability of the sewage network to operate in East Dean, Charlton, Singleton and West Dean, and may appear in a small number of basements. Only showers, or small amounts of rain are forecast over the next 5 days to Tuesday 17/03/2026. Groundwater at at both Chilgrove and East Dean boreholes is expected to continue to fall. It is probable that groundwater will continue to fall throughout March, although groundwater groundwater flood impacts may not reduce until April. If there is persistent, or exceptional rainfall in late March, groundwater flood impacts may remain for longer. Take care on roads that flood (Chilgrove, West Dean, Singleton, East Dean). Ensure pumps work. We will update this message by 18:00 17/03/2026.

    Rising river levels today may lead to flooding. 
    Flooding is possible on 13 March 2026 . 
    Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near the River Yeo at Sherborne Lake. Following the overnight rainfall, the water levels in Sherborne Lake have risen and isolated flooding around the area may occur. The level in the River Cam and River Wriggle peaked overnight and have now fallen. However, flood water may still affect low lying land and the Sparkford to Weston Bamfylde road and Deep Ford Lane, Chetnole. Showers are forecast for today, Friday 13 March, with drier weather on Saturday. 
    We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and the forecast weather.

    High groundwater levels may lead to flooding. 
    Flooding is possible . A small amount of rain (13mm) fell on Thursday night. 
    Groundwater is now very close to the level we expect flooding to affect cellars of a small number of properties in Bishops Sutton and these impacts begin during the next 3 days. Impacts to septic tanks and flooding of roads is possible. Only a small amount of rain is forecast from Friday 13/03/2026 to Tuesday 17/03/2026. Groundwater levels may rise slightly in response to rainfall already recorded and will remain high throughout March 2026. 
    We are closely monitoring the situation . 
    Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed .
