    River levels remain high following recent rainfall. Flooding is possible on the 28th February 2026. Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near rivers. Our forecasts indicate that flooding to properties isn't likely and therefore flood warnings are not expected to be issued. We are closely monitoring the situation.  Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Avoid low lying roads, near rivers which may be flooded. This message will be updated by 5pm on 1 March 2026 or as the situation changes.

    Forecast rising river levels throughout the evening may lead to flooding. 
    Flooding is possible from the evening of 27 February 2026 . 
    "The River Lud in Louth will remain at a constant high level whilst the Flood Storage Reservoirs are in operation.
    Our forecasts indicate that flooding to properties isn't likely and therefore flood warnings are not expected to be issued." 
    We are closely monitoring the situation .

Flooding is possible. Be prepared. Keep an eye on local river levels and forecasts, and get ready to move valuables and put flood protection in place.

Flood warning

Flooding is expected. Immediate action required. Move family, pets and valuables to safety, turn off gas, electricity and water if it is safe to, and put flood protection in place.

Severe flood warning

Severe flooding. Danger to life. Stay in a safe place with a means of escape, and follow the advice of the emergency services. Call 999 if you are in immediate danger.

The history is the Environment Agency’s record of every warning raised since 2006, which it publishes each quarter, joined to the warnings we have recorded live since. Each count is one warning or alert raised for one area; a warning that was later updated counts once. When a warning is removed that is not counted as a new warning. An area with no warnings on record can still flood.
