A Flood Warning was issued for Groundwater flooding for the Tarrant Valley in Dorset Council, Wiltshire on 5th March 2026. Affected watercourses included the Groundwater.
During this event, FloodRadar monitoring gauges recorded notable rises. The Groundwater Level at Windwhistle rose 1.82m, peaking at 74.83m, while the Groundwater Level at Homington climbed 1.70m.

High groundwater levels are expected to cause flooding. Groundwater levels in Cranborne Chase are falling slowly, but remain high. Areas that could be affected include: Tarrant Gunville, Tarrant Hinton, Tarrant Monkton, Tarrant Rawston, Tarrant Launceston and Stubhampton. The groundwater level at the Rushmore borehole is at 133.27m. Further rainfall is forecast starting tomorrow, Thursday 26 February, which may cause levels to rise again into the weekend.
