A Flood Warning was issued for Groundwater flooding for the North Winterborne, north of the A354 in Dorset Council on 9th March 2026. Affected watercourses included the Groundwater.
During this event, FloodRadar monitoring gauges recorded notable rises. The Groundwater Level at Delcombe Wood rose 1.12m, peaking at 137.32m, while the Groundwater Level at Ridge Way climbed 1.02m.

High groundwater levels are expected to continue to cause flooding. The groundwater level at the Delcombe Wood borehole remains high at 136.78m above sea level. Flooding is expected for: Turnworth, Winterborne Stickland, Winterborne Houghton, Clenston, Whatcombe and Whitechurch. Levels are starting to fall steadily. Some rainfall is forecast later this week and groundwater levels remain reactive. We are closely monitoring the situation. If you have a pump, make sure it is working and switched on. Think about alternative power sources in case of power cuts. Roads may be impassable due to flood
