A Flood Warning was issued for Cumbrian coastline from St Bees Head to Haverigg, along the coast from North Head to Haverigg in Cumberland on 4th April 2026. Affected watercourses included the Irish Sea.
During this event, FloodRadar monitoring gauges recorded notable rises. The River Esk at Cropple How rose 0.50m, peaking at 1.03m, while the River Duddon at Duddon Hall climbed 0.50m.

High tides, strong winds and large waves are expected to cause flooding throughout the evening. Flooding is expected from 1:00AM to 3:00AM on 05/04/2026. Potential flooding due to high winds from Storm Dave, subsequent tides not expected to have any impacts. Areas most at risk include beachfront properties at Coulderton, Nethertown and Braystones. Low lying properties at Saltcoats, Ravenglass, A595 at Muncaster Mill Bridge and the Esk Estuary. We have closed flood gates at Ravenglass.
