A Flood Alert was issued for West Somerset Streams in Somerset between 27th February 2026 and 2nd March 2026. Affected watercourses included the Horner Water, River Aller, Washford River, Hawkcombe Stream, Monksilver Stream, Doniford Stream.
During this event, FloodRadar monitoring gauges recorded notable rises. The Doniford Stream at Sampford Brett rose 0.48m, peaking at 0.71m, while the River Aller at Allerford climbed 0.29m.

The river level on the Washford River at Beggearn Huish remains high, following the rainfall at the weekend. Flooding is therefore possible for low-lying nearby properties, roads and land as a result. Monday is expected to be largely dry and the weather is forecast to be more settled until Thursday. We are closely monitoring the situation and checking rivers for blockages. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
