High tides this afternoon may lead to flooding.  Flooding is possible from 1:00PM to 5:00PM on 15/02/2026.  Strong winds combined with high tides may lead to wave overtopping. Locations most affected will be coastal roads and footpaths in Hendon Promenade, Seaburn Lower Promenade and Seaham Harbour and Docks between 1:00PM and 5:00PM.  We are closely monitoring the situation .  Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded .  This message will be updated by 7:00PM on 15 May 2026 or as the situation changes.
