A Flood Alert was issued for The Essex coast from Clacton to and including, St Peters Flat and the Colne and Blackwater estuaries in Essex on 22nd March 2026. Affected watercourses included the North Sea.
Local monitoring gauges did not record a significant level change for this event, which may indicate a precautionary or rainfall-forecast-based alert.

High tides overnight may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible between 1:15am and 3:15am tomorrow, Monday 23 March. Clacton Promenade, Lee-over-Sands and Brightlingsea sea front may see some wave overtopping and spray. The Strood at Mersea Island, Coast Road and car parks on the front at West Mersea, and the Hythe and Promenade at Maldon may be flooded. The detailed forecast is for a peak level at Clacton of 2.74mAODN at 2:15am tomorrow Monday 23 March which is 0.25m above tide tables, Wind Force 2, Northerly.
