A Flood Alert was issued for The Essex coast at Coalhouse Fort in Thurrock on 18th April 2026. Affected watercourses included the Thames Estuary.

High tides overnight may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible between 01:00am and 03:00am tomorrow, Sunday 19 April. Areas most at risk are Coalhouse Fort and car park, and the low lying land between the fort and Coalhouse Point. The detailed forecast is for a peak level at Southend of 3.43mAODN at 02:00am tomorrow Sunday 19 April which is 0.29m above tide tables, Wind Force 4, North Westerly. No further high tides are expected over the coming days. We are closely monitoring the situation . Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded . This message will be updated
