A Flood Alert was issued for South Devon coast from Start Point to Dawlish Warren in Devon, Torbay between 29th and 30th April 2026. Affected watercourses included the South Devon Coast.
Local monitoring gauges did not record a significant level change for this event, which may indicate a precautionary or rainfall-forecast-based alert.

Flooding is possible 3 hours either side of high tide on Thursday evening. High tide of 1.89mAOD at Teignmouth will be at 19:00 on Thursday 30th. Strong Easterly Force 5 winds and offshore wave heights up to 1.4m are forecast. Recent storms have increased the risk of wave overtopping at Torcross. Conditions will be less hazardous along Torcross seafront, compared to this morning’s (Thursday 30th) high tide. Coastal conditions are expected to ease following Thursday evening high tide.
