A Flood Alert was issued for Lower Avon and tributaries in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, Dorset Council, Hampshire between 25th February 2026 and 17th March 2026. Affected watercourses included the Avon.
During this event, FloodRadar monitoring gauges recorded notable rises. The River Stour at Iford Bridge rose 1.07m, peaking at 1.46m, while the Uddens Water at Ferndown Tricketts Cross climbed 0.71m.

This is a flood alert update. River levels remain steady but still higher than normal in the Lower Avon and responsive to further rainfall. Flooding is still possible. Areas most at risk include the tributaries between Ringwood and Christchurch. Flooding is possible with low lying land and roads near rivers particularly around Ringwood Old Cottage most affected. No rain is forecast in the next few days. We will continue to monitor the situation.
