A Flood Alert was issued for Hundred Foot Washes in Cambridgeshire and Norfolk in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk between 25th and 28th February 2026. Affected watercourses included the Old Bedford River, New Bedford River, Hundred Foot Drain, River Delph.
During this event, FloodRadar monitoring gauges recorded notable rises. The River Great Ouse at Welney Causeway rose 0.70m, peaking at 3.02m, while the River Great Ouse at Sutton Gault climbed 0.61m.

River levels remain high but are now falling after the recent heavy rainfall. This information is correct as of 7.30am Saturday 28th February 2026. The causeway at Welney has up to 2 cm of water on the road. There are no issues for the causeway at Earith or at Sutton Gault. Due to the uneven surface of the roads, water may be deeper in places. The Environment Agency are liaising with Norfolk Highways who will decide whether to close the Welney road.
