A Flood Alert was issued for Groundwater flooding in Pitton, West Tytherley, Nether Wallop and Broughton in Hampshire, Wiltshire on 23rd March 2026. Affected watercourses included the Groundwater.
During this event, FloodRadar monitoring gauges recorded notable rises. The Groundwater Level at Odstock rose 0.35m, peaking at 57.73m, while the Groundwater Level at Stoford Cross climbed 0.34m.
Environment Agency advice issued
Groundwater levels are high but slowly falling. In the last week, the level at the borehole in Pitton has fallen by 40cm. At West Tytherley, the level has fallen by 22cm. Flooding may still be affecting cellars of properties in Nether Wallop and Pitton. Sewerage systems and road flooding impacts may still be occurring in Pitton. From Monday 23/03/2026 to Friday 27/03/2026, only very small amounts of rain are forecast. Groundwater levels will continue to slowly fall. If favourable weather is forecast next week, this Flood Alert will be removed. We are closely monitoring the situation. Residents
