A Flood Alert was issued for Groundwater flooding in Patcham in Brighton and Hove on 6th March 2026. Affected watercourses included the Groundwater.
Local monitoring gauges did not record a significant level change for this event, which may indicate a precautionary or rainfall-forecast-based alert.

Groundwater is high, close to the surface, but slowly falling at Ladies Mile borehole. A small amount of water could still be appearing in a few basements, although likely to be infrequently now. Previous events suggest impacts may initially affect Old London Road, Patcham and Peacock Lane, Withdean. Only small amounts of rain are forecast over the five days to 10/03/2026, and groundwater at Ladies Mile borehole will continue to slowly fall over the coming week. Groundwater flood impacts are likely to stop being visible soon. There is a suggestion that unsettled conditions and periods of rain
