A Flood Alert was issued for Coast at North Morecambe Bay in Lancashire, Westmorland and Furness between 20th and 22nd March 2026. Affected watercourses included the Irish Sea.
During this event, FloodRadar monitoring gauges recorded notable rises. The River Leven at Newby Bridge rose 0.25m, peaking at 1.11m, while the River Kent at Sedgwick climbed 0.17m.

High tides today may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible from 10:15 to 14:15 on 22/03/2026. Locations most affected will be low lying coastal roads and footpaths in the area of coastline at North Morecambe Bay from Roosebeck to Carnforth including low lying areas around Ulverston, Greenodd, Haverthwaite, Flookburgh, Grange-over-Sands, Levens, Milnthorpe, Sandside, Arnside and Silverdale. No further high tides meet the requirements for a Flood Alert. Locations most affected will be coastal roads and footpaths. We are closely monitoring the situation .
