Forecast high river levels this evening may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible this evening, 26 August 2026. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including Kingfisher Way, Forest Road, Monarch Way and Belton Road industrial areas from the Wood Brook, the Grace Dieu Brook, Burleigh Brook, Black Brook, Grammar School Brook, Hermitage Brook, Sileby Brook, Long Whatton Brook, King’s Brook and Kingston Brook.
The forecast today has improved, however there remains a risk of heavy rainfall from thunderstorms until 22:00 this evening. Further heavy rainfall is forecast throughout Thursday, 27/08/2026, with lighter persistent rainfall through Friday, We are closely monitoring the situation & clearing debris from weed screens. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses & monitor local water levels and weather conditions.
