   Groundwater levels have stabilised at our Hodcot borehole affecting West Ilsley, East Ilsley, Compton, Chilton and West Hagbourne. The groundwater level is higher than normal for this time of year. We expect levels to stay high for some time before a slow decline. Due to the nature of groundwater flooding, this situation could continue for several weeks or longer.
   
   Residents are advised to consider property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. Take particular care when driving through flood water both for your own safety and to prevent flooding to others.

    We believe there is a possibility of flooding for Putney Embankment (SW15), Chiswick Mall and Strand on the Green (W4), Thames Bank at Mortlake (SW14), Ranelagh Drive (TW1), Friars Lane and Water Lane (TW9), Riverside and The Embankment at Twickenham, and the Towpath below Teddington Lock. Flooding of properties is not expected.
    
    Astronomical tide levels are falling. The river flow at Teddington Weir is 83 cubic metres per second and is steady. We anticipate the flows to remain steady for the next few days.

The Strood at Mersea Island, Coast Road and car parks on the front at West Mersea, and the Hythe and Promenade at Maldon may be flooded. The detailed forecast is for a peak level at Clacton of 2.74mAODN at 2:15am tomorrow Monday 23 March which is 0.25m above tide tables, Wind Force 2, Northerly. No further high tides are expected over the coming days.

Springs will continue to appear, water will be in fields, small amounts of water will flow down roads, groundwater will affect the ability of the sewage network to operate in East Dean, Charlton, Singleton and West Dean, and may appear in a small number of basements. No rain is forecast over the next 5 days to Tuesday 24/03/2026. Groundwater at both Chilgrove and East Dean boreholes is expected to continue to fall. It is probable that groundwater will continue to fall throughout March, although groundwater flood impacts may not reduce until April. If there is persistent, or exceptional rainfall in late March, groundwater flood impacts may remain for longer. Take care on roads that flood (Chilgrove, West Dean, Singleton, East Dean). Springs will continue to appear, water will be in fields, and water will flow down roads, including Stoughton main road, the road from East Marden, between Cooks Lane and Barley Mow in Walderton, and the B2146 near Woodlands Lane. Groundwater will also affect a small number of cellars in Stoughton and Walderton. No rain is forecast over the next 5 days to Tuesday 24/03/2026. Groundwater at Compton borehole is expected to continue to fall. It is probable that groundwater will continue to fall throughout March, although groundwater flood impacts may not reduce until April. Groundwater levels in East Kent have risen following significant rainfall during January and early February.     The detailed tidal forecast for those who use it is for a peak level at Avonmouth. The forecast high water is at 08:45 AM on 21/03/2026 with a level of 7.40 mAODN with North East force 2 winds (mAODN is height above average sea level). Please note all tide times are in local time and refer to the high water time at Avonmouth. Areas most at risk include the tidal River Avon from Sea Mills to Conham in Bristol and between the Avonmouth Bridge and Shirehampton Park including Pill and Shirehampton.

    We believe there is a possibility of flooding for Putney Embankment (SW15), Chiswick Mall and Strand on the Green (W4), Thames Bank at Mortlake (SW14), Ranelagh Drive (TW1), Friars Lane and Water Lane (TW9), Riverside and The Embankment at Twickenham, and the Towpath below Teddington Lock. Flooding of properties is not expected.
    
    Astronomical tide levels are rising. The river flow at Teddington Weir is 90 cubic metres per second and is falling slowly. We anticipate the flows to fall slowly over the next few days.
