    Flooding is possible from 7:30PM to 9:30PM on 11/09, from 08:00am to 10:00am and from 08:00PM to 10:00PM on 12/09. 
    Areas most at risk include the tidal River Avon from Sea Mills to Conham in Bristol and between the Avonmouth Bridge and Shirehampton Park including Pill and Shirehampton. The detailed tidal forecast for those who use it is for a peak level at Avonmouth Portbury. The first forecast high water of 7.42 mAODN is at 8:30PM 11/09, which is 0.14 m above tide tables, with Westerly force 4 winds. The second forecast high water is at 09:00AM 12/09 with a level of 7.4 mAODN with South-Westerly force 5 winds. (mAODN is height above average sea level.)

    The detailed tidal forecast for those who use it is for a peak level at Avonmouth. The forecast high water is at 08:45 AM on 21/03/2026 with a level of 7.40 mAODN with North East force 2 winds (mAODN is height above average sea level). Please note all tide times are in local time and refer to the high water time at Avonmouth. Areas most at risk include the tidal River Avon from Sea Mills to Conham in Bristol and between the Avonmouth Bridge and Shirehampton Park including Pill and Shirehampton.

Flood alert

Flooding is possible. Be prepared. Keep an eye on local river levels and forecasts, and get ready to move valuables and put flood protection in place.

Flood warning

Flooding is expected. Immediate action required. Move family, pets and valuables to safety, turn off gas, electricity and water if it is safe to, and put flood protection in place.

Severe flood warning

Severe flooding. Danger to life. Stay in a safe place with a means of escape, and follow the advice of the emergency services. Call 999 if you are in immediate danger.

Where this comes from. Warnings in force are the Environment Agency’s own, which we check every 15 minutes. They cover England only: for Wales see Natural Resources Wales, for Scotland SEPA Floodline, and for Northern Ireland nidirect.

The history is the Environment Agency’s record of every warning raised since 2006, which it publishes each quarter, joined to the warnings we have recorded live since. Each count is one warning or alert raised for one area; a warning that was later updated counts once. When a warning is removed that is not counted as a new warning. An area with no warnings on record can still flood.
