Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads around the tributaries of the River Trent in Nottinghamshire, the River Greet, Potwell Dyke, Dover Beck, Cocker Beck, Woodborough Brook, Ouse Dyke, Thurgarton Beck and others. The forecast this morning has improved, however there remains a risk of heavy rainfall from thunderstorms this afternoon. Further heavy rainfall is forecast throughout Thursday, 27/08/2026, with lighter persistent rainfall through Friday, We are closely monitoring the situation & clearing debris from weed screens. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses & monitor local water levels and weather conditions. This message will be updated by 17:00 PM on 26 August 2026, or as the situation changes. River levels at Lowdham Gauge may rise rapidly due to the nature of the catchment
