Geology: predominantly Sherwood/Mercia Sandstone, with some Mercia Mudstone along southern border. Low relief, river channels lined with clay, sand and gravel alluvium, more extensive u/s. Rural, agricultural land use.

Crump profile Flat V (1:10) weir, 6m wide, in concrete 1:1 trapezoidal channel, straightened reach. Rough, inclined sides to about 2.5m. Installed to monitor flows where river crosses Sherwood/Mercia Sandstone to Mercia Mudstone boundary.
